Not the best news for Playstation owners who have been anxiously awaiting the dynamic world of mods, but hope is not lost as the message seems to imply there is a chance that something can be worked out. We will provide an update if and when this situation changes. However, until Sony will allow us to offer proper mod support for PS4, that content for Fallout 4 and Skyrim on PlayStation 4 will not be available.
We consider this an important initiative and we hope to find other ways user mods can be available for our PlayStation audience. Like you, we are disappointed by Sony’s decision given the considerable time and effort we have put into this project, and the amount of time our fans have waited for mod support to arrive. Bethesda had these words to say:Īfter months of discussion with Sony, we regret to say that while we have long been ready to offer mod support on PlayStation 4, Sony has informed us they will not approve user mods the way they should work: where users can do anything they want for either Fallout 4 or Skyrim Special Edition. “We absolutely, positively want to get PS4 mods out as fast as humanly possible.Addressing a question that has been increasing in volume recently, Bethesda today announced on their dev blog that mods will not be coming to Fallout 4 or Skyrim: Special Edition when it releases on October 28th. “All I can say is that it’s undergoing an evaluation process and as soon as it’s done, and we have more info, we’re gonna let everyone know,” Hines told Metro. Hines wouldn’t confirm if the setback for mods were from Sony’s end or technical issues for Bethesda, but the marketing executive assured Metro they are actively working on getting the support to the console.
Hines recently spoke to Metro about what lies ahead for Bethesda when asked about the progress of PS4 mod support for Fallout 4. As soon as we learn more, we will share news,” Bethesda shared on Twitter. “We’re working w/ Sony on Fallout 4 Mod support for PS4. The gaming studio told its Twitter followers it wasworking with Sony to release mod support back in August. It’s rare for consoles games to have mod support, so PS4 users are rightfully getting impatient with Sony and Bethesda.
